Bacelona sack Director of football (likely to affect Song's future).

It's all kicking off at Barcelona.
The President has sacked Director of football, Zubizaretta, and Carlos Pujol has walked out on the club in support of the legendary ex-keeper.
El Presidente is unhappy with last summer signings, Douglas and Vermaelen (neither playing in 1st team at the mo), and it's also being mentioned in Spanish press that the President disagreed with Zubizaretta's decision to loan out Song (a 20 million signing), and this has also contributed to Zubizaretta's downfall.
On top of that, it appears Messi and manager Luis Enrique have had a falling out.
If a new manager comes in at end of season, as seems likely now, and with Zubizaretta gone, Barcelona may well want to keep Song?
(I didn't realise Barcelona paid 20 million for Song - that's well out of West Ham's range, anyway, isn't it?)

I would imagine loaning out Song had absolutely FUCK all to do with it.
He was hardly an integral part of Barcelona's success over the last few years.
Fabregas leaving? Yeah I'd believe that.
But Song? No. Not before his spurt in performance anyway.

i'm only reported what spanish press says - 25 million euros (and i don't have a pound sign on my keyboard - i'm on holiday in spain)

my point was that if there's a new manager and new dof at barsa next season, they may want to keep him, to play him in the team (especially as he's performed well this season).
I just find it interesting that song's loan to us is being mentioned as one of the reasons zubizaretta's been sacked (this is a massive news in spain by the way - Zubizarerra is a barsa legend)
